Planting Seeds (Your Heart Songs)

Yesterday, I saw my first forsythia. It is my favorite sign of spring. I like when they are wild and leggy! I feel like forsythia today, untamed and reaching for the sun.

I feel inspired by the season’s emerging color palette, and its morning bird symphonies. It is helping me tend to my internal gardens. I am planting seeds, and making plans.

For several years, I have been writing songs for other people. I listen deeply to what a person’s heart is saying, and then I write a song that speaks from their heart. It has been an honor and a joy to do this work, and I have been touched by the responses I have gotten from the people I have written for.

I named this part of my musical work, Your Heart Songs, and I built a website dedicated to it.  The site is still a work in progress, but I wanted you to have a sneak peek!

hi D. thanks once again for drawing my thoughts toward new directions. i have no plans. it feels a bit sad to write that, but its a choice. i'm letting life unfold on its own with what i hope to be a directionless push on my part; but rather a curious ride with someone or something else at the helm. my work will be to stay in the moment and be present for what is and who is in front of me. the other day i almost missed the opportunity to help a friend because i was too busy. truth is i wasnt too busy i just thought i was too important to stop my agenda and give back, pay it forward, just be present, with no agenda, for another. i guess that's the seed i am planting. it will be an interesting summer of growth. thanks for your inspiration and continues success with all your seeds. i love your new one...Your Heart Songs. beautiful!

Hi Harry, I love the seed you are planting. It is a gift to be able to stay in the moment and not miss what is around you. It is a wonderful way to be. I need to be mindful of that as well, even as I make plans. Thanks for liking You Heart Songs. That means a lot to me. Thanks for reading my blog. Your comments are always so thoughtful. I look forward to them.

Hi Denise I will divide and plant many perennials in the next week. I am establishing a new garden from my old one. As well as trying to establish a new life from my old one. Some days are very challenging. I will stay positive although sadness is trying to take over my soul. I find hope in my gardening and in music. I find faith in humanity when I meet people like you. Who give hope and comfort through their music.

Terry! It is good to see you here. You just touched me. I love the combination of staying positive while planting seeds. I can relate to that. I can also relate to sadness, and I hope that this spring will shine new light in you. Thank you for your kindness and your comment. I am grateful that you have become part of my tribe. My best to you...

Hello hello! This spring I'm hoping to plant cucumbers, and cherry tomatoes. We have a raspberry bush too. My mom is kinda leaning towards getting rid of it cuz she says we didn't get much fruit from it, but the fact is that we did. In the past we have planted carrots, turnips, red peppers, watermelon, eggplant. I'm probably forgetting some stuff, but just trying not to ramble here. Lately we've only had good luck with cukes, and tomatoes. Best of luck with all that you're planting! -Bryan

Thanks Bryan. I would love to have a raspberry bush. They always feel like treasure when I come upon them unexpectedly. Sounds like you know what grows well for you. Happy gardening...
